Eight of our K2fly staff gave up their time last week to test their culinary skills at
Ronald McDonald House Nedlands Home for Dinner cooking program. The program benefits WA’s seriously ill children and their families. The fundraising initiative sees volunteers take over the kitchen preparing, slicing and dicing and serving meals to those children and families that are staying the the house at that time.
The K2fly menu consisted of :
- Shepherd’s Pie
- Chicken Alfredo
- Chicken Nuggets (home-made)
- Potato, carrot and broccoli
- Roasted Mediterranean vegetables
- Brownies, cupcakes that Dave and Chris decorated beautifully
Whilst
Nic was very quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of potatoes that were required to be peeled and enlisted the help of Irishwoman extraordinaire, Karel as his sous chef, Anna struggled to stir the massive pot of alfredo and cackled like a witch in Hocus Pocus with my potion ‘stirring the pot’ as
Rob put it! Nuggets were a hit and we were told to
portion control a few times as Karel provided multiple nuggets at a time and the supply ran low very quick!
Families were so lovely and engaging, prompting their children to ask for their meals and thank the servers.
